Donald James Boote, age 80, of Derby, retired co-owner of Air Capitol Salvage, choir member with the Melodears and former wallpaper hanger, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016. Visitation 1-8 PM Friday, September 9, with family greeting friends 5-7 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 1 PM Saturday, September 10, Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 431 S. Woodlawn, Derby. Don is preceded in death by his wife, Rie; parents, Bill & Marie Boote; and a brother, Bill. Survivors include his sons, Donald Boote (Donna), of Wichita, and Ken Boote (Cathy), of Derby; grandchildren, Christie Kipp (Daniel), Courtney Boote and Donald Boote; great-grandchildren, Nora, Luci and Paxton.
