Derby- Dolores M. Burnett, 92, passed away May 19, 2025. was born November 01, 1932 to John and Jennie Nolan in Frontenac, KS.
Dee Burnett truly never met a stranger. She had the most generous heart and would help anyone who came to her for assistance. She especially loved horses, dogs and cats. She had many of each over the years, showing her paint horses, Ring O' Fire, Kan Dee and Skippa Streak in Western Pleasure competitions. One of her last much-loved companions was her dog, Cassie and she had a reputation for taking in any cat someone would bring to her.
Dee attended Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Derby, KS, and had a devotion to the Virgin Mary. She had a beautiful singing voice and was often asked to sing solos. She had a smile that could light up the room and a hearty, authentic laugh.
Dolores was preceded in death by her brothers, James Frederick Nolan and John Patrick Nolan; her parents, and her husband, Paul Burnett.
Dolores is survived by her sister, Patricia Adochio; Nieces, Becky Hunt (James), Teresa Smith (Randy), Donna Adochio, Chris Bradley (David) and Teresa Lloyd; Nephew Paul Jackman; great niece, Jenni Johnson, great nephews Jeff Eason and Michael Bradley, and two more generations of loving great nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: St. Mary Catholic Church, Derby KS on Friday May 30 with the Rosary at 9:30am and Memorial Mass at 10:00am. Interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Frontenac, KS on Tuesday, June 3 at 2:30 PM
