Dillard W Powell

Dillard W. Powell, 88, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 17, 1925 to Richard W. and Dora Andrews Powell in Wheaton, MO. Dillard enjoyed gardening and relaxing in the sun. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Marvin, Eugene, Benny and Don Powell. Dillard is survived by his wife, Pauline Powell; son, Ed Powell; daughter, Paula Lee; four grandchildren, Tania Brown (Trey), Jana Barscewski (Chris), Scott Lee (Stephanie), Spencer Lee (Tricia) and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation: Tuesday from 1pm to 8pm with family present between 6pm and 8pm at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS. Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 1335 N. Buckner St., Derby, KS 67037. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Food Bank, 1919 E Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67211.
