Diane Maxine Brown, age 78, passed away Wednesday morning, September 8, 2021 at her residence in Wichita, Ks.
Diane was born September 18, 1942, in Rockwood, Tennessee. a daughter of the late Lillian Louise Ward and granddaughter of Ida Lou Ellen Paige.
Diane is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Larry Dean Brown and her late son Larry Joe Blake Jr.
She was a devout member of First Pentecostal Church of Wichita, and a homemaker. Diane served her community with a smile for 25+ years at local diner and Wichita staple Jeanne’s Café. She enjoyed singin’ ol country tunes, flowers, arts, crafts and spending as much time with her children and grandchildren.
Diane is survived by two sons and four daughters, Dustin Blake; Martin Blake; Sheila Blake; Lisa Blake; Mary Kaye Littell, Cindy Blake as well as 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Diane made an impact on everyone she came across and leaves behind countless friends and family who will carry on her memory and miss her greatly.
Visitation is 2-4pm, Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, KS 67037. Funeral service will be held at 10 am, Monday, September 13, 2021, at First United Pentecostal Church of Wichita located at 1755 E MacArthur Rd. 67216 with Bishop Marrell Cornwell officiating. Burial will follow at Kensington Gardens 11500 E 21 St N, Wichita, KS 67206. A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer’s Association, 1820 E Douglas Ave, Wichita, KS 67214.
