Dennis Niedermann

Aug 8, 1962 — Aug 27, 2026

Andover

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Dennis, who left this world on August 27, 2026, in the warm embrace of his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 8, 1962, in Oxnard, California, Dennis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose life was rich with love, laughter, and adventure.

Dennis was the cherished son of Robert and Lois Niedermann, both of whom predeceased him, along with his stepsons Michael and Kristopher Olivarez, his sister Susan Thieme (Dale), and his nephew Logan Kostner. He is survived by his loving wife, Vicky, whom he married on March 14, 1987, and with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with laughter and joy. Together, they enjoyed a blended family with son Severo Olivarez IV and daughter Brianne Brink Hackler, who blessed them with six adored grandchildren: Ro and Michael Olivarez and Callie Brink, Arilyn, Logan, and Peyton Hackler. Dennis is also survived by sister Marsha Taylor (Bill), sister Denise Niedermann, and sister Shondra Kostner (Adrian) along with numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dennis was more than a family man; he was a man of the road, spending much of his career as an over-the-road semi-truck driver. His work allowed him to experience the beauty of many of our great states, a journey he relished. Beyond his professional life, Dennis was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, often found out on the lake surrounded by family and friends, sharing stories and creating memories.

Known for his infectious humor, Dennis was always ready with a joke or a prank, bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went. His kind-hearted nature and loving spirit touched all who knew him. Dennis was a man who would do anything for those he loved, and his generosity and warmth will be dearly missed.

A service to honor and celebrate Dennis's life will be held on August 31, 2026, at 2:30 at the Smith Family Mortuaries at 1415 N. Rock Road in Derby, Kansas. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects to a remarkable man who left an indelible mark on all our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Dennis's memory be made to the American Cancer Society, an organization dear to his heart. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of all those he touched.
