Derby - Wharton, Delbert E. "Del"80, passed away Monday, October 10th, 2022. He was born August 21st, 1942 in Derby, KS. Del was a self employed Real Estate Appraiser & Broker, member of Belle Plaine Masonic Lodge and Midian Shriners, avid outdoorsman- belonged to Kansas Bassmaster and former Hunters Safety Instructor and enjoyed Harley Davidsons and his award winning 1956 Crown Victoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, and six brothers & sisters. Del is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jo Ann Wharton of Derby, Sons: Larry Wharton-Nolan, Shawn Wharton; daughters: Joyce Brooks, Beth (Richard) Fleetwood, Nena Smith; Brother: Milton Dean (Gladys) Wharton; Sister: Darlene (Buss) Scott; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren other relatives & friends. Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Thursday, October 13th, 2022 at Smith Mortuary, Derby 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037. Interment with Masonic Rites to follow at Belle Plaine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, in lieu of flowers.
