Deborah Lynn “Debbie” Hunt, 64, of Belle Plaine, Kansas, passed away on August 28, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Debbie was born on November 18, 1961, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Carroll and Wanda Sherwin.

Family was at the center of Debbie’s life, and some of her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She also had a love of travel and was blessed to visit many places around the world, creating treasured memories with the people she loved most.

Debbie is survived by her three daughters: Jennifer Elder and her husband, Caleb; Kristin Titus and her husband, Clint; and Kelly Tate and her husband, Greg.

She is also survived by her eight beloved grandchildren, Austin, Kenzie, Maverick, Alyse, Cai, Charlotte, Zealand, and Beckett; her mother, Wanda Sherwin; her sisters, Tina Imhoff and her husband Danny, and Patricia Lucas and her husband Wade; and her brothers, Sonny Sherwin and his wife Michelle, and Chris Sherwin and his wife Christina.

Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steven “Steve” Hunt; her father, Carroll Sherwin; and her sister, Rhonda Sherwin.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Smith Mortuary in Derby, Kansas.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Mulvane, Kansas.

Debbie will be laid to rest beside her husband, Steve, at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

Debbie will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her love of travel, and the many special memories she created with those closest to her. Although she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at home in Heaven and reunited with her beloved husband, Steve.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Debbie’s memory may consider making a personal gift to help the family offset unforeseen medical expenses incurred during her treatment. The family is deeply grateful for the many prayers, expressions of love, and acts of support they have received.
