Mulvane

Mulvane – Yohe, David Blayne, 84, passed away on October 29, 2025. He was born to Azel and Helen Yohe on September 23, 1941 in Hutchinson Kansas. He was raised in Burrton Kansas where he made some lifelong friends. After completing his Bachelors degree from Fort Hays University, he went to work at Boeing. He later worked his way up to Director of Finance for Learjet and eventually purchased Milling Precision Tool with a friend who he met while working at Learjet.

A few years after marrying Leanna, the couple moved to Mulvane in 1973 where they built their forever home. David got involved with the Mulvane Optimist Club and was the treasurer for 32 years. He spent many years raising money for the youth of Mulvane through the Optimist club with events like spook houses, fireworks stands, steak feeds and many more events. He was awarded the Optimist Lifetime Achievement Award for all of his involvement in the clubs programs. He was one of the founding fathers of the Mulvane Sports complex who all took out personal loans to purchase the land that the Sports Complex was developed on. He served on the Mulvane School Board for 2 terms. He developed many friendships through his love for golf, KU sports and his involvement in executive board meetings (aka playing poker) every Thursday evening with the guys.

He and Leanna were crowned the 2021 King and Queen of Mulvane Old Settlers which is our annual town celebration. Only the town’s best of the best get awarded this honor.

David was a wonderful husband and father. Everything he did was for his family. He worked hard all of his life to provide for his family and to share his wisdom with his kids and grandkids.

David was preceded in death by his parents Azel and Helen, bothers, Spence and Russ. sisters, Colleen and Connie.
