David Nyle Therrien

David Nyle Therrien, age 81, of Derby, passed away January 28, 2017, in Wichita. Visitation 1-8 PM Wednesday, February 1, with family receiving friends 6-7 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Thursday, All Saints Catholic Church, 3205 E. Grand, Wichita. David was born January 2, 1936 in Peterborough, New Hampshire, to Roger and Mary Murphy Therrien. David joined the US Marine Corps at the age of 17 for a 3 year stint. Following his time in the Marines, David joined the United States Air Force. David married Karen Marie Likes on May 6th, 1961 in Great Bend, KS. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for the US Postal Service in Wichita for 26 years. David is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Mike Therrien (Chastity), of Liberty, MO; daughter, Janet Oliphant (Brad), of Derby, and Stacie Therrien (James), of Wichita, 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.The family requests that in lieu of gifts or flowers to send donations to Rivercross Hospice, 251 S.
