Darrell Evean Vincent

Darrell Evean Vincent of Wichita, Kansas, born on March 2, 1949, to William Robert and Loretta Vincent went to be with our Lord in the early morning hours of May 20, 2025 at the age of seventy-six. He had a full life that included living in Hawaii and on Guam while serving in the Navy. He met and within one week got engaged to Jan (Oringderff) Vincent, his wife of fifty-five years. Together, they raised two boys. He also enjoyed many boating excursions that included canoeing and water skiing.

Darrell was a quiet man of few words, but he had a quick wit sure to bring a smile to his listener’s face. He loved Jan deeply for all their years together. Jan attributes their long marriage to the fact that they both felt like they were the lucky one. Darrell was a woodworker who loved learning about, looking at, and buying new tools to use in his basement shop. He built many gifts for family members that will be treasured for years to come.

He was also active in their church of many years, Hope Christian Church in Wichita, KS. He was on the clean up crew that met on Thursday mornings. He often spent that time working on special projects for the church such as a workbench that some describe as ‘a thing of beauty.’ He is survived by his wife Jan Vincent, their sons Jeffery (Denyne) of Peoria, Arizona and Bradley (Ami) of Lander, Wyoming, and his four grandchildren Holly (40), Evan (25), Brooklyn (14), and Jackson (13) and one great grandchild Paige (20). He is preceded in death by his parents William and Loretta Vincent and his siblings Raymond and Delores.

Service will be held on Saturday May 24, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. with lunch following at

Hope Christian Church

Dress is casual.
