Darrell Butterfield

DERBY- Butterfield, Darrell L., 85, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Visitation 1-8 pm Sunday, with family present 2-5. Funeral service 11 am Monday, both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Darrell was a longtime community volunteer and former owner of Thriftway Exterminating in Wichita and Hutchinson. Preceded in death by his parents, E.P. and Nellie Butterfield, and brother Mandell. Survived by wife, Alma; sons Gary Butterfield and partner Shahram Ghadimi-Navai of Denver, and Mark Butterfield and partner Cynda Wright of Hutchinson; grandsons Justin (Stacy) Butterfield of Kansas City, and Lt. Brett (Andrea) Butterfield of Kaneohe, Hawaii, and their mother Debbi Butterfield of Stillwater, Okla. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Derby Historical Society, P.O.
