Darlene Langston

Darlene Langston passed away on January 6th, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Darlene was born December 25th 1930 in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from Wichita North High School and earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Bible/Management and Ethics from Manhattan Christian College graduating with honors.

A life-long resident of Wichita, Darlene met her husband to be Bobby Langston while working at McConnell Air Force base. A proud home maker, she raised four children and was a key influence in the lives of 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Church and faith were central to Darlene’s life. She was an active member West Side Christian Church serving the congregation as a leader in the children’s ministry.

Darlene is survived by her husband Bobby Langston and daughter Susie Helm of Wichita, KS, sons Marc Langston and wife Nicki of Overland Park, KS, Shane Langston of Kansas City, MO, and Matthew Langston and wife Lisa of Goddard, KS, sister in laws Reneava Langston of Wichita and Liz Garone of Derby and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews nieces and cousins.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday January 11, 2016 at West Side Christian Church 1819 W. Douglas Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, please make gifts to West Side Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Western Kansas. Condolences may be made to www.smithfamilymortuaries.com.
