Darlene J. Clawson

Clawson, Darlene J. (Delano), 84, passed away Friday, May 2, 2014. She was born February 11, 1930 to John Chance and Eula Lee (Sledge) Delano in Eva, OK. Darlene loved her church and was a member of St. Mary’s Alter Society and enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, gardening, baking, traveling, and writing memory books. She loved music and taught her children and grandchildren how to play the piano. Darlene loved all 9 of her children equally and enjoyed family reunions and Christmas because it meant spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian; 5 brothers; and 1 sister. Darlene is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Mark Clawson; children, Debbie (Mike) Titus, Laurie Lambert, Kimberly (Cliff) Foster, Elizabeth Lynn Clawson, John (Laura) Clawson, Mary Kay Smith, Stephen (Tina) Clawson, Michael Clawson, and Amy (Gustavo) Torres; grandchildren, Monica, Jessica, Carlee, William, Heather, Jed, Dayton, Joe, Jennifer, Anna, Nathan, Chase, Melanie, Valerie, Matthew, Gus, Zach, Zoe, and Brendan; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, R.B. Delano; sister, Lyla Lawler; and sister-in-law, Emagene Delano. Visitation: 2 to 5 pm, Monday at Smith Family Mortuary in Derby. Rosary: Monday at 7 pm at St. Mary Faith Center. Funeral Mass: 11 am, Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at St. Mary Faith Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary School Building Fund.
