Cynthia Kay Elliott, 67, of Haysville, Kansas, passed away on April 2, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on July 31, 1957, in Joplin, Missouri, to John and Kathryn Lancellotti.
Cindy grew up in Ft. Scott, Kansas, where she attended elementary through high school. She later attended Ft. Scott Community College, earning her associate degree. Cindy met and married Richard Elliott, and the couple moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she worked in the S.I.D. office at the University of Northern Iowa. Afterward, they moved to Horton, Kansas, where their son, Jared, was born. Later, they relocated to El Dorado Springs, Missouri, where their daughter, Jordan, was born, and Cindy worked at the local bank. Finally, the family moved to Haysville, Kansas, where their daughter, Taylor, was born. Cindy worked at Intrust Bank, later starting a successful in-home daycare service for many teachers in the school district. She then worked as a secretary at Haysville West Middle School until her retirement in the summer of 2023.
Cindy had many interests and passions, including traveling with her family to Hawaii and Disney World. She treasured spending time with her family and friends, and she never passed up an opportunity to enjoy a meal out.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Elliott of Haysville; her children, son Jared (Melissa) Elliott of Topeka, Kansas, daughter Jordan (Matt) Trego of Valley Center, Kansas, and daughter Taylor (Paul Gillespie) Elliott of Newton, Kansas; grandchildren, Reese Elliott, Kain Trego, Jack Trego, and Lakelynn Gillespie; her parents, John and Kathryn Lancellotti of Ft. Scott, Kansas; her brother, Greg (Sandie) Lancellotti of Spring Hill, Kansas; her mother-in-law, Patti Elliott of Ft. Scott; as well as numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Mortuary – Haysville, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville, Kansas. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Cindy would have appreciated donations to the American Cancer Society (Breast Cancer Research) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
