On Friday, December 16, 2022, Curtis J. Carrell (62), a son, Dad, Pops, and friend passed away peacefully in his home. He was born October 11, 1960 to Larry Carrell and Judith Fields in Manhattan, Kansas. He was an Aircraft painter, most recently employed at Bombardier Learjet. He ran a successful side business as a handyman and could fix or build most anything. When Curtis wasn’t working, which wasn’t often, you could find him riding his Harley or enjoying his favorite beverage or two. Curtis loved to have fun; riding, boating, fishing, traveling, music and dancing. But what put the biggest smile on his face was his two grandsons. When Curtis walked into a room, everyone knew it. Curtis was best know for his quick-witted humor, his smile, his hugs, his laugh and his charm. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone. He is preceded in death by father, Larry; siblings, Michael and Thomas. He is survived by his mother, Judith Ann Fields; daughter, Rachel (Paul) Shaefer; grandchildren, Joseph and Jacob Shaefer, and many extended family members and lots of friends. A celebration of life will be held at one of his favorites; Mort’s Cigar Bar on January 29th at 2:00 pm.
