Craig W. Carter

Carter, Craig W., 81, owner of Craig Carter DDS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born May 15th, 1943 to Dorothea Krause.

He graduated from Derby Senior High in 1961 and was a great athlete in both football and basketball. He married the love of his life, Carolyn High, who also went to Derby High School, and they raised four kids together in Derby. Craig chose dentistry for his career and practiced in Wichita until he retired. He was known for his gentle hands and pain free dental work. His lasting legacy will be sharing Jesus through his handcrafted wooden bowls that he made and gave to everyone he met.

Preceded in death by mother, Dorothea Kraus; son, Bryan Carter and parents-in-law, Fred and Geneva High. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; children, Bradd Carter, Kim (Eddie) Kercher, Brent Carter; grandchildren, Baylee, Clay, Danyel, Kylee, Caleb, Carter, Kade, Ashton, Ethan, Max and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service is 10:00 am, Friday, October 11th, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church, 1636 E Patriot Ave, Derby, Kansas 67037. Interment to follow at El Paso Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
