Connor Edward McMillan

Connor Edward McMillan passed away unexpectedly on September 11, 2026.

During his short time with us he accomplished so much in his life. Born in St. Albans Vermont on July 23, 2005, he began his journey in life. He graduated from the Alburgh Educational Community Center in June of 2019 and from Bellows Free Academy in June of 2023 where he made numerous friends and created life long relationships.

He enjoyed playing Lacrosse but his true passion was his love of food. During his high school years Connor followed this love by working for two local businesses. His freshman year he worked at Bob's Meat Market as a Kabob Maker where Rob gave him the nickname Furbear. During his sophomore year he worked at Mimmos starting as a dishwasher. He quickly learned the position and earned a spot as a prep cook. He was employed there through his senior year of high school. His love of Mimmos started from a very early age and he absolutely loved working there. Mimmos was an additional family to him.

He was a career driven individual wanting to carve out his space in life. During his senior year he decided he wanted a career in the United States Air Force in Security Forces. A short time after his high school graduation he started his BMT at JBSA Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas completing BMT in August of 2023. He started his training in Security Forces and graduated in January of 2024 and was assigned to his first duty station at McConnell Air Force Base, 22D Security Forces Squadron Knights, in Wichita Kansas where he excelled and earned the rank of SrA-Military Working Dog Handler.

He deployed to Kuwait in October of 2024. There he worked long days but he made time to follow his new passion, supporting the K-9 unit. He supported the unit in many ways and as a decoy during training exercises he quickly earned the respect of his leadership in Kuwait and received letters of recommendations to be trained in this career field. After returning from his deployment in April of 2025 he was chosen to go to Lackland Air Force Base to begin his training as a K-9 handler successfully completing his training in October of 2025.

After returning to McConnell he was assigned his first K-9, Brus. Connor and Brus quickly built a bond and through hard work and determination became a team. Connor was then assigned his first mission in Michigan with Brus. He was looking forward to his upcoming assignment at the United Nations General Assembly in New York to perform security sweeps. In recent weeks he received orders to Osan Air Force Base in South Korea where he would be stationed with his brother Cooper Rocheleau. This was a dream of his and was excited to begin this phase of his career. He accomplished so much in his 3 years of service, The United States Air Force was his life and his family.

Connor has left behind by many souls he touched, although the ones closest to him were his father, Andy McMillan, his mother, Jennifer Green and his Step-Father Jeffrey Rocheleau, his brothers and sisters: Kyle McMillan and his fiancé Vanessa Cappon, Jenna McMillan and her partner Josh Metcalfe, Emily Rocheleau, and Cooper Rocheleau, his maternal grandparents, Mark and Patricia Austin, his nieces and nephew, Easton, Raegan, and Remi. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who adored him so much.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Wendell and Cookie McMillan, his aunt, Yvonne and uncle, Ricky.

Connor will be remembered for his smile that would light up a room, his signature dance moves, his unwavering love for the Boston Red Sox, but most of all his huge hugs. His truck was his pride and joy. Connor was an old soul and was loved by all. His most cherished fur babies Abby and Gus are with him now. He made such a positive impact on so many lives. As parents we will forever be thankful he chose us."The Lord has received his Defender"

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM CST, on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in the McConnell Air Force Base Theater, 53147 Kansas Street, Building 732, McConnell AFB, KS 67221.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 22, 2026, From 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and a Time Of Reflection and sharing of memories at 7:00 PM in the Brady and Levesque Funeral Chapel, 86 South Main Street, Saint Albans, VT 05478.

As an alternative to flowers, memorials may be made in Connor's name to the Franklin County Humane Society, The Wounded Warriors Project, or the ASPCA.
