Holman, Clyde Junior, 88, KG&E retiree, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Visitation 1-8 p.m. Friday, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, at College Hill Church of Christ, 438 Emery, Mulvane. Clyde retired from KG&E in 1988, after 37 years. He enjoyed traveling and was a snowbird, going to Texas for the winter. He liked to water ski and go boating, and to go bowling. Clyde was pretty good at bowling – he was in three leagues until his stroke. He married Karen in 2005. They built a new home in Country Walk and enjoyed that so much. They sold that in 2010, and moved to Karen’s parents home, where they lived at the time of his death. Clyde enjoyed doing yard work and kept up on it as long as he was able. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, especially if KU or K-State was playing! Clyde was preceded in death by two infant children and son Ralph Holman; his parents Clyde and Louise Holman; four brothers; his second wife Mary Lou; and a great-grandson. He is survived by his wife Karen, of the home; one daughter, Christina Murphy of Wichita; one son, Lawrence Holman of Mulvane; six grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; sisters Jane Holman and Frances Walters; step-children Laura Terry, Marsha (Curt) Spencer, Jannifer Terry, Jeffrey (Katherine) Terry; eleven step-grandchildren, and 15 step-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with College Hill Church of Christ, 438 Emery St., Mulvane, KS 67110.
