Walker, Claibourne "Clay" Leroy, 90, passed away on June 21, 2026. He was born in Kingman Co, Kansas on May 19, 1936, to his parents, Walter and Ruth Walker. He was the first of 5 children.
Clay was a farmer, carpenter, and retired aircraft tool maker. He was able to retire early and over the many years raised countless animals including exotic cats, puppies and farm animals. He enjoyed working with his hands and always had a project on his mind. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family. Whether it be a fish fry or a card game, he always enjoyed being with the ones he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ruth Walker; brothers, Duane Walker and Larry Walker; sister, Beverly Adkins. And daughter Susan Smith, great grandson Dylan Novian and great granddaughter Nora Akins
Clay is survived by his sister Vada Brasier of Naples Florida, sister in law Pat Walker of Mulvane, KS, daughter Diana Scott and husband Ed of Ponca City OK, Dale Walker and wife Kathie of Maize KS, Donna Hayner and husband David of Granbury TX; grandchildren, Stan Hackworth, Brad Hackworth, Chris Crotts, Adam Crotts, Crystal Crotts, Lauren Akins, Kylie Zaccari, Nicholas Smith, Coy Richardson.
There are 10 great grandchildren & 5 great great grandchildren.
And many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 North Rock Road, Derby, Kansas 67037.
