Clarence Paul Mcguire

McGuire, Clarence Paul “C.P. – Mac”, 76, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, December 11, 2014.

He was a retired Kansas law enforcement officer and served as road patrol lieutenant on the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department as well as other departments in Kansas. After retiring from law enforcement as a detective with the Augusta Department of Safety, he became airport manager at the Augusta Municipal Airport. He was born April 10, 1938 in Altadena, CA and moved with his family to Wellington, KS in 1943. He graduated from Wellington High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lola A. McGuire; son, Jeffery McGuire; brothers, Jimmie McGuire and Charles “Bob” McGuire; 3 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mac is survived by his wife, Gayla; sons, Timothy (Renee) McGuire, Paul (Kristina) McGuire, and Edwin (Amanda) McGuire; daughters, Elizabeth Ross, Deborah McGuire Branch-Werner (Edward), Dani Nelson, Heather (Mike) Koehn, Taunja (Rey) Arvello, and Robin (Doug) Dutton; brother, Gary McGuire; 27 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Sunday from 1 to 6 pm at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca, Wichita, KS 67213. Funeral: 1 pm, Monday, December 15, 2014 at Westside Freewill Baptist Church. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Augusta, KS.
