Chris Tilley

July 11, 1991 — January 13, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Lee Tilley "Chris", born on July 11, 1991, who left us too soon on January 13, 2024. Chris was a man with many facets: funny, confident, goofy, charismatic, strong, caring and outgoing. He showed us how to care for another, to value true friends, to love hard and to take pride in ourselves, a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire us.

Grieving Chris' loss are his son, Bently Tilley; his grandfather, Melvin Tilley; his grandmothers and great grandmother, Debra Frantz, Mia Richardson and Clara Bell; His sisters, Paige Tilley, Harlie Staton and Heidi Jackson. His uncles, Tommy Taylor, Craig Hoobler and Curt Hoobler. His Aunts, Marilyn Martin (Steve) Wendy Belt (Steven), Jan Rodriguez and many close friends and other family members. Predeceased by his parents, Kelly and Marvin Tilley, and his grandparents, Margret Tilley and Norman Frantz; Great Grandparents, Lewis and Betty Hoobler, Wayne Bell and we trust Chris finds peace in their embrace once again. You can bet the Farm the first thing he did was run to his mother’s arms, he had missed her every second since she left. Also joining hands with several friends that had left too soon themselves.

Chris was proud to be a graduate of Spanish Fort, AL High School, class of 2011. Among his many achievements, which included getting baptized, having a son, and celebrating the birth of his nephew Greyson, graduating high school held a special place in his heart. He wore his Alma Mater’s colors, especially his favorite, red, with pride.

He enjoyed all country and rap music, you could catch him singing a song at any time usually a country toon like Crazy Girl. When relaxing, he loved watching his favorite film, Scarface. He had a passion for cleanliness, spending his recreational time cleaning his car or his shoes or organizing something and of course putting in a car stereo so he could blare his music, alongside his love for drawing and writing. His favorite local spot was his mother's gravesite, where he found comfort and solace. His favorite vacation spot was the beach in Alabama, where he made many memorable trips like his first one there with his little sister Paige and she was stung by jellyfish, and he had to help her relieve the sting. Chris would also be happy hitting a country road with a friend or any other adventure he could partake in.

He once was a regular attendee at Grace Revolutionary where he was baptized. His faith played a vital role in his life, providing him with a sense of community and spiritual nourishment. In this sanctuary, he found strength and guidance during his most challenging times. Chris found much comfort in his life’s struggles through his relationship with Christ.

While Sweet Tea, Dr Pepper, Faygo, and Sprite were his favorite drinks, he savored every sip of life and the sweetness it has to offer. Chris had a zest for life and a spirit that was contagious to those around him. If you weren’t smiling when he saw you, he was going to make sure you were smiling before you left. Quick to raise an eyebrow at you like the Rock and ask you what’s wrong. You couldn’t see Chris and not get a giant hug and an I love you. He valued Family and Friends above all else and was quick to lend a hand to someone in need.

A viewing for Chris will take place on January 23, 2024, at 5:00 PM at Smith Family Mortuary. It serves as an opportunity to bid him farewell and remember the joy he brought into our lives. A service is being held Saturday January 27th at 11am at Hope Community Church in Andover, KS.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to help with funeral expenses at https://everloved.com/life-of….

Chris will be greatly missed by many, especially his baby sister Paige and his Grandma Deb , to whom was fondly known as 'Paigey' and 'Paiger'. His love and laughter will forever echo in our hearts and minds. I Love You (ILY), Chris.
