Christopher Moore

November 25, 1952 — June 8, 2021

Christopher Bryan Moore, age 68, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021. No visitation. Memorial service 10 am Monday, June 14, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Chris was born the third child of James and Beverly Jo Moore. He was born in Alva, OK, November 25, 1952, raised in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. He graduated high school from Medicine Lodge in 1972, he attended Emporia State and graduated from Friends University with a degree in Criminal Justice. Chris worked with the Garden City Police department, Johnson County, Kansas Sheriff's Office and the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office. He enjoyed a second career with Scholfield Honda in Wichita for 23 years. He was a master negotiator, always lending a hand when needed and warmed everyone's heart with his generosity and humor. He was a cowboy, a law enforcement officer, a trusted and loyal salesman, a gambler, a Dallas Cowboy football fanatic, a loving brother, a dad by choice, a Papa to 5 adoring little girls and of course "an athlete". Chris was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Michael Moore. He is survived by his son, James Alumbaugh (Nicole); daughter, Rebecca Charlsen (Patrick); ex-wife, Annette Haga; brother, Jeff Moore; sister, Ann Swinson (Randy); sister-in-law, Lynn Moore; grandchildren, Ashlyn, Kamryn, Briar, Ramona and Cora; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. A memorial has been established with the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit, c/o Lodge #74 of the Fraternal Order of Police, 477 N. Seneca, Wichita, KS 67203 or donate by the cash app, $sgsok9. The Moore family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff in the ICU at Ascension,Via Christi, St. Francis Campus.
