Christopher David Dye

Dye, Christopher D. “Chris,” age 38, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, May 17, 2013, at KU Med Center in Kansas City. Visitation 1-8 (family present 5-7) Thursday, May 23, at Smith Mortuary in Derby. Funeral service 10 a.m. Friday, at First Christian Church Powerhouse, 302 N. Georgie, Derby. Chris was a self-employed contractor and an avid outdoorsman, who was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles “Chuck” Dye, and grandfather, R.C. Dye. Chris is survived by his mother and step-father, Gayle and Garold “Doc” Cox of Derby; brothers, Charles (Becky Campbell) Dye of Bella Vista, AR, Clayton (Jenny) Dye of Houston, TX; step-siblings, Kelly (Ed) Bowlin, Kerry (Melinda) Cox, Kendall (Susan) Cox, and their children and grandchildren; grandparents, Bill (Ramona) Alley, and Flossie Dye; as well as many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Carpenter Place, 1501 N. Meridian, Wichita, 67203.
