Christine M. Suchy

Christine M.Suchy, age 93, of Wichita, formerly of Great Bend, retired Assistant Manager for Payless Shoes, passed away, Thursday, May 9, 2013. Visitation 3-8 PM Monday, May 13, and 1-8 PM Tuesday, May 14, with family receiving friends from 6 PM Tuesday, with recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 PM Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. Funeral Mass 11 AM Wednesday, May 15, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 1412 Baker Ave., Great Bend, KS. Christine was an avid gardener and crafter. Her true love was Iris. In 2006 she had an Iris introduced in her honor. And her tenacity for getting through any struggle was her finest quality. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; parents, Ludwig & Rosa Werth; brothers, Emil, Leonard, Ferdie, and Richard; sisters, Armella Freighberger, Sr. Cornelia Werth, Sr. Leonard Werth, Regina Basgall, and an infant sister, Lenora. Survivors: sons, Len “Sonny”, Clarence “LeRoy” (Joanne), and Rod, all of Wichita, and Kevin Keating, Dallas, TX, whom she thought of as a son; 3 granddaughters, 8 great-grandchildren; and her special friends, Evelyn Hendricks, Lynn Wilson, Jim Huff and Al Harr.
