Chay L. Porter Moss, 61, was born December 11, 1949 in Libya, Tripoli Africa to Charles and Valaria Porter. She died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. Chay grew up in a military family and spent time in San Antonio, TX, Tokyo, Japan and Sumter, SC, before moving to Oberlin, KS where she attended high school. Upon graduation, she joined the United States Air Force and then began her career working first in dentistry in Washington, DC for Dr. Irving Rothstein for 17 years. She then resided in Reno, NV and Wichita, KS before settling in Las Vegas, NV with her husband, William Moss. There she worked again in dentistry for Dr. Ron Wagner for 19 years and later Dr., Kent Wagner joined the practice as well. Chay was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband William Moss, of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Jan Evans, of Rose Hill, KS, two brothers, Charles Porter and wife, Mary Ann, of Leawood, KS, and David Porter and wife, Linda, of Sharon Springs, KS; three nephews, Trever, Brandon and Michael; and seven nieces, Dana, Dawn, Jamie, Carmen, Katie, Bridget and Molly. Chay loved her family and helping others. She enjoyed spreading the word of God; she will be greatly missed by her family and all those whose lives she has touched. Chay passed away peacefully after having been surrounded by her loving family. A graveside memorial service will be held in Oberlin, KS on June 25th, at 1 PM.
