Charles Wilson, 78, Loving Husband, father and grandfather passed away March 24, 2020 in Wichita, KS. Charles (Chuck) was born June 27, 1941 in Chanute, KS. Chuck served in the United States Army after high school and then married his soul mate, Carolyn Wilson on March 6, 1965. Chuck and Carolyn had two children, Robert and Nora. Chuck retired From Pawnee Plastics in Wichita, KS at the age of 56.
Chuck was an avid deer hunter, raised quail, grew wonderful tomatoes in his back yard and he loved the Dallas Cowboys football team. Above all things in Chuck’s life he loved his grandchildren the most. On any given day, you would find Chuck with his grandchildren going to breakfast, attending archery tournaments or lounging on the couch watching his favorite westerns on the television together.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Wilson; Parents, Charles and Katherine Wilson; Brothers, Donald Wilson, Kenneth Wilson and Ricky Wilson.
Charles is survived by his son, Robert (Desiree) Wilson; daughter, Nora (John) Wilson-Gordon; Brothers, Jimmy Wilson, Kevin Wilson; Sister, Sylvia (Ron) Umbarger; Grandchildren, Kristi (Matthew) Wolken, Stephanie (Kelley) Smith, Brandon (Jessica) Wilson, Dallas (Steven) Goss, Emily (Cody) Ellison, Brody Wilson and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 3 from 10 am to 12 pm at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca, Wichita. A public celebration of life and burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Wichita.
