Charles George Waple, Jr., age 87, of Derby, retired Lt. Col., US Air Force, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012. Visitation 1-7 PM Wednesday, with Recitation of the Rosary at 7 PM, both at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Thursday, September 20, 2012, St. Mary Faith Center, 2300 E. Meadowlark, Derby. Interment will follow at El Paso Cemetery, Derby. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Frances & Charles G. Waple, Sr; and sisters, Libby Turnbough and Peggy Forrest. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Teresa; sons, Charles E. “Butch” (Virginia) Waple and Patrick Shawn (Karen J.) Waple, all of Derby; daughters, Diane Teresa (Art) Hilger, of Wichita, Yvonne Frances (Dale) Staiert, Omaha, NE, Pamela A. (Rob) Roy, of Douglass, and Sheila M.
