Charles Patrick “Chuck” Neil, 68, of Wichita, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014, from COPD. He was born in Wichita, KS, on July 25, 1946, to William J. and Faye G. (Anderson) Neil. Chuck was one of the “Polio Pioneers” at Riverside Elementary. Chuck graduated from Wichita State University in 1968 and entered the U.S. Army. After Basic Training, he completed Officers Candidate School at Fort Belvoir, VA. He saw duty in Alabama, Kansas and Korea. After his military service Chuck worked for Independent Scale Service in Wichita, and then joined Pan African Airways in Lagos, Nigeria. Returning to Wichita from Africa, Chuck established his accounting service with clients on three continents. He retired from accounting in 2013. Survivors include his mother, Faye G. Neil, and sister, Billie (Thomas) McDavitt, all of Wichita, his nephew, Dr. Thomas A. (Bridgette) McDavitt, of Alsip, IL, and niece, Katherine I. (Christopher) Humphrey, of Seattle, WA, his grandniece, Grace Renee McDavitt and grandnephew, Thomas Jacob McDavitt, and his long time friend and business colleague, Steve W. Kemp. A private family service is planned for next spring. A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
