Charles E. Van Metre

Charles E. Van Metre, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Charles was a retired Boeing Supervisor and a United States Marine Corps Veteran. Memorial service 4 p.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Smith Mortuary Chapel, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna, and parents Joe and Dorothy Van Metre. Survived by sons Joe (Carrie) Van Metre, of Wichita; David (Maria) Van Metre, of Derby; and Chris (Kristy) Van Metre, of Topeka; sister Sue (Tom) Belusko, of Portland, Oregon; and grandchildren Lynsey, Paige, Drew, Macey, Ethan, Aidan, and Addison. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
