Charlie grew up in Texas. He even was a rodeo bull rider for a short time. He spent most of his later life working with heavy equipment, from the oil wells, to utility contracting, operating everything from backhoes to excavators, and even was a certified crane operator.

He was instrumental in starting the Wildcat Construction Colorado division, moving from Kansas to Colorado Springs, and working his way up to General Superintendent.

Charlie valued friendships. He carried with him the set of principals that emphasized honesty, integrity, loyalty, and above all respect for others.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings

Charles is survived by his wife, Debra Dansby; daughter, Christie Dansby; son, Clinton Dansby both of Kingman, KS; Aaron (Ellyn) Meketsy; and 4 grandchildren
