Carolyn Sue Tarr

Carolyn Sue Schul Massey Tarr, age 80, of Mulvane, Kansas, passed peacefully on January 26, 2023. She

was born March 28, 1942, to Wayne and Doris Schul in Grenola, Kansas.

Carolyn enjoyed life to the fullest. She was always active in the community – with membership in the

Mulvane United Methodist Church, the Sundowners, and her gardening club, as well as always being up

for a game of cards with friends or family. She enjoyed sewing (especially quilting), oil painting,

gardening, and bird watching. She seemed to have a talent for anything she tried.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Schul; mother, Doris Keys; husband, Morris Dale

Massey; brother, Gail Schul; son, Jerry Massey; and daughter, Kelly Gray.

She is survived by her partner, Van Tarr; brother, Gary Schul; son, Kevin Massey; daughter, Kathy Nickles

(Rocky); son-in-law, Robert Gray; step-son, Branson Tarr; 12 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; and

a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Mulvane United

Methodist Church, 107 S. Central St, Mulvane, Kansas, 67110. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. on

Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Campbell Cemetery, Leslie, AR, 72645.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mulvane United Methodist Church or St.

Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
