Derby - Rausch, Carolyn Julia
87, born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 23, 1937 passed away Friday, December 20, 2024 with her daughter and grandson, Rinae and Anthony Myers by her side. She will join her husband, Walter Joseph Rausch; father and mother, Joseph and Adriana McTaggart; sister, Rose Barton; brother, Norman McTaggart; daughter, Cindy Bruntz; and granddaughter, Annie Myers who have preceded her to Heaven.
Carolyn grew up in St. Louis, Missouri where she met and married Walter and began a family. She devoted her life to raising, loving, and caring for her 7 children, and was a wonderful grandmother to 19 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was a beautiful person with a selfless, giving heart who would do anything for kids. She was the best mom a child could hope for. She was always there to listen and advise, give you a hug, and be there for you always, as she was for her kids, whenever one of them needed her. She showed her love through both her words and her actions.
Although her husband and children were her life, she was never too far from a crossword puzzle or a good book. She loved watching old black and white classics and listening to her music. She liked crafting and crocheting and always enjoyed talking politics.
She loved reminiscing about her life growing up in St. Louis and going to the movies with her mother, tagging along after her brother Norman, going dancing with her girlfriends at the Casa Loma Ballroom, and working at her first jobs at Famous and Barr and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. She said as a little girl she shared her mother’s love for cats and she carried that love with her to her own cats. She moved all over this country, but always considered St. Louis her home. She was loved beyond words and will be deeply missed forever. Eighty-seven years was not long enough for those who knew her best.
Carolyn is survived by her sons, Curtis Rausch and Walter Rausch; her daughters Rinae Myers, Constance Crane, Denise Swallow and Carrie Bosley; her grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
