Carolyn Anne Kitchens

Our Beloved Matriarch, Carolyn Anne Kitchens, was called home on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, at the age of 73.

She was born Carolyn Anne Thomas in Hartford Connecticut on August 14, 1951 to Weslie and Grace Thomas of Westville NJ.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Tom Kitchens, daughter Jennifer, Son Brian, daughter Alexa, 5 grandchildren- Brianna, Allyson, Tristin, Trinity, and Colby. 4 great-grandchildren- Trinisty, Gracelynn, Briella, and Zaelyn, and 1 honorary grandson Noah, Her brother Richard Thomas of NJ, brother Rodney Thomas of NJ, twin sister Chris Lowery of AL, and countless more family members and friends.

Carolyn attended Gateway Regional High School in Woodbury Heights NJ and then went on the Cooper Hospital School of Nursing in Camden, NJ where she became an RN.

She remained in the medical field for the next 50 years, expanding her credentials to become a Cardiopulmonary Perfusionist, eventually running Heart perfusion programs at Wesley, St Francis and many other Wichita area Heart programs.

After retirement, Carolyn loved to fish, camp and travel. She became very active in a grief counseling program for children called KidzCope in Wichita Ks, served multiple officer positions for both the American Legion Auxiliary, as well as the 8/40 La Boutique Nationale, an organization dedicated to the welfare of children.

Carolyn will be greatly missed and forever loved by her family and friends as she once again runs and plays with her granddaughter Trinity who preceded her in passing.

Services for Carolyn will be a Celebration of life memorial and will be announced at a later date.
