Carole H. Salmon

Carole H. Salmon (Stinson) 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 21st, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born February 24, 1937, in Laconia, New Hampshire, to Irene and Carl Stinson. Carole was a vibrant spirit whose warmth, kindness and infectious giggle touched everyone she met.

Carole’s journey through life was marked by her immense love for her family and her unwavering spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Salmon who left this world in 2017, and her beloved and beautiful daughter, Janet Richardson, who passed away in 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Jody Deyak, grandson Shane Richardson and stepchildren, Shari (Ken) Blew, Stacy (Jay) Sproul, and Brian Salmon, along with grandchildren Casey (Sarah) Blew, Colt Blew, Keith (Tiffany) Maat and Kristopher Maat who all adored and loved her for 46 years.

On December 9th, 1978, Carole married the love of her life, Robert (bob) Salmon, in a beautiful ceremony in Rosehill, KS. Their marriage of 39 years was a testament to the deep bond they shared, a bond that continued to inspire all that knew them, Carole’s life was marked by her love for family and friends, she cherished every moment spent with family – never missing a birthday or holiday celebration.

In addition to being devoted to family life, Carole actively engaged in exercise classes and enjoying coffee with the “gals”. As a dedicated member of a book club, she embraced her love for literature and thoughtfully wrote book reports on each book read. She enjoyed movies , shopping and her occasional glass of wine with her friends. Carole was also known for her deep love for animals, particularly her cat, Cody, but her love extended to any “critter” that graced her home and her backyard became a sanctuary where any animal would feel safe and fed daily which was a reflection of her loving and nurturing spirit.

As we remember Carole H. Salmon, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose laughter, love, and kindness will forever echo in our hearts. She will be missed by many!

To honor Carole – a Celebration of life will take place Saturday January 18th, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 at the “Carriage House” located at 810 E. Chet Smith Ave, Derby, KS
