Carol Dean Reynolds, 88, of Derby, Kansas passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at his home in Derby, Kansas. Carol was a brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather.
Carol was born November 9, 1936, to Herbert and Eleanor Reynolds in Cuba, Kansas. After graduating high school in Cuba, KS, he served in the United States Army spending time in Panama training in jungle warfare. He was honorably discharged in 1965.
Carol married Kathryn (Opocensky) in April 1967, and they had two children Clinton and Craig.
As a young man, Carol had registered polled shorthorn cattle in Cuba, Kansas, and later worked for Bombardier (formerly Gates Lear Jet Corporation), as a shipping/receiving clerk. He retired after 35 years of service.
Carol loved spending time with his family and all his grandchildren. He also loved the outdoors and talked often about his childhood on the farm and raising cattle. Carol also enjoyed greyhound racing and was the proud owner of many fast greyhounds.
Carol was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Eleanor Reynolds, his brothers Kenny and Leroy and his stepmother Silvia Koss. He is survived by his wife Kathryn, his brother Ray, his sons Clinton (Dr. Wendy Reynolds) and Craig, and seven grandchildren McKenna, Gracyn, Hunter, Tara, Lauren, Aundrea, and Lindsey.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Mortuary in Derby, Kansas on Friday May 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with a private burial at Farmington Cemetery, Cuba, KS.
