Carlos Gene Benjamin

Benjamin, Sr., Carlos Gene, was born February 13, 1937 in Turon, Ks. He passed from this life of a massive heart attack on October 3, 2010, while doing what he loved: Spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. When five years old, Carlos moved to Wichita and, with the exception of a year, spent his life in Wichita. Carlos loved gospel music and sang with the Torres Family Ministries for 12 years. He was a deacon at Graceway Community Church and retired from Sigma-Tek of Augusta, Ks. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Rozetta Benjamin and grandson, Justin Gray. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Judy Benjamin; 5 children, Carlos Benjamin, Jr., (Mary) of Prescott, AZ, Michael Benjamin (Janet) of Mesa, AZ, Dona Flynn (Patrick) of Wichita, Robin Valadez (Ray) of Colorado Springs, CO, Julie Quinn (James) of Wichita; sisters, Joyce Gray (Edwin) of Augusta, Rosanne Cox of Texas; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. A celebration of life service for Carlos will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 10:00am at Westside Freewill Baptist Church, 3310 W. MacArthur, Wichita.
