Carl Edward Reekie

Reekie, Carl Edward, 88, United States Army Veteran and retired heavy equipment operator, passed away Friday, May 29, 2015. Visitation 3-5 p.m. Monday, at Smith Mortuary, 501 S.E. Louis Blvd., Mulvane. Rosary 7 p.m. Monday; Mass 10 a.m. Tuesday, both at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by wife, Margaret (Crossman); his parents, Harry and Ina Reekie; and sisters Frances Priddy and Opal With. Survived by wife Luwyna “Lu” Reekie; step-children William Ryan, Charlotte Hemmy, Clinton (Janet) Starnes, Stephen (Jody) Starnes; Sherryl (Rex) McKnight, Juanita (Tom) Rusher, Janice (Dick) Shepard, Ramona (Ray) Langlois, Rodney Reekie, Diane (Dale) Nungesser, Mary Reed, Arlene Reekie, Gwendolyn (Dennis) Rieschick, Darla (Mark) Cole, Rhonda (Paul) Krause, William (Linda) Reekie; sisters Zelda Gifford and Dorothy Ware; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 525 E. Main, Mulvane, KS 67110, and DaVita Dialysis, 250 Red Powell Dr, Derby, KS 67037.
