Cari Charter

August 12, 1969 — April 20, 2024

Wichita, Kansas – Cari was born to Gary and Sally (Meuser) Charter on August 12, 1969 in Lawrence, Kansas. She passed away April 20, 2024. She graduated from Campus HS in Haysville, Kansas and attended Wichita State University. Cari worked early in her career for Dorth-Coombs Insurance, and in 2010 joined Kansas Bankers Insurance, a subsidiary of KBA. There she was promoted to Assistant Vice President. Cari loved working from home, off and on, for many years.


She was passionate about the things she enjoyed. Chiefly among them were photography and playing/dealing poker. Cari was happiest when she was taking pictures at the Zoo and Maxwell Wildlife Refuge. She would drive the backroads and

around lakes in the early evening looking for wildlife, especially eagles and owls. Her passion also included astrophotography of comets and solar eclipses. We will miss the family photo calendars she enjoyed making us at Christmas.


Preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Harold and Velma (Armstrong) Charter; William “Bill” and Marie (Kessinger) Meuser.


She is survived by father, Gary (Janice) Charter of Wichita, Kansas; mother, Sally Charter of Wichita, Kansas; three

brothers, Christopher (Toni) of Santa Clara, Utah; Clancy (Christina) of Mulvane, Kansas; and John Grey of Wichita, Kansas; two Favorite Aunts, Diane Baughman-Chambers (Bill Chambers); and Julie (Frank) Tobias, both of Wichita, Kansas; niece,

Calli Charter of Mulvane, Kansas; nephews Kiowa Charter of Santa Clara, Utah; andbConnor Hurley of Wichita, Kansas; cousins, Glenn Baughman of Wichita, Kansas; andbLisa Baughman of Humble, Texas; and sisterlike, Susan Tusher of Wichita, Kansas.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 11th , 2024 at 10:00am in St.Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, 1511 W. 27th St. S., Wichita Kansas. She will be laid to rest in Liberty Cemetery, Nashville, Kansas.


In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Sedgwick County Zoo, 5555 W. Zoo Blvd., Wichita, Kansas 67212;

and Maxwell Wildlife Refuge, 2565 Pueblo Road, Canton, KS, 67428.
