Calvin A. Borror, 86, retired

U. S. Postal employee and former Westphalia, Kansas Postmaster, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011. Calvin was born on a farm east of Westphalia, KS., the son of Noah Alfred and Florence Abbott Borror. He served in the Navy (1942-1946) during WWII on the USS Hugh W. Hadley. On December 7, 1952, he and Barbara Strain were married at Westphalia. Calvin was active at First United Methodist Church participating with Volunteers In Mission and with Walk to Emmaus organization. He was also active with the ARC organizing and leading mini tours. Calvin will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his entertaining sense of humor, and overcoming many challenges during his life. He is preceded in death by his parents Noah Alfred and Florence Abbott Borror and brother Martin. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; children, Mary Kelly and her husband Dan, Susan Woolsey and her husband Ric, Linda Christine Borror all of Wichita, Donna Smith and her husband Jerry Keith Smith of San Antonio, TX, David Borror and his wife Linda K. Taylor-Borror of Wichita; grandchildren, Dr. Brendan Kelly and his wife Dr. Kelsie Kelly of Kansas City, KS, Brianna Wener and her husband Jacob of Oak Park, IL, Bryce Kelly, Sean Woolsey, Evan Woolsey all of Wichita, Lauren Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Sarah Smith all of San Antonio, TX; Russell Lee Taylor III of Wichita; sister, Florence Lewis of Quenemo, KS. Viewing: 1-8pm Monday, Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca with family greeting friends 6-8pm. Service: 10am, Tuesday, August 23, 2011, First United Methodist Church, 330 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS. Graveside following at 3:30pm, Garnett (KS) Cemetery. Memorials to First United Methodist Church TV Ministry or Volunteers In Mission Fund in care of the church.
