Pringle, Buford F. (BF) “Coach,” 89, was born on December 29, 1923, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Anne (McSpadden) and Otis Pringle. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and wife Fannie Elizabeth “Beth” Pringle. He is survived by children Buford (Linda) Pringle, Jr., Debbie (Joe) Futhey, Cyndi (Dwayne) Martin, Suzie (Rusty) Crafton, Kimberly Beth Pringle; sixteen grandchildren, and thirty-three great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Wesley Wayne Darden, and sisters-in-law Alberta Mixon and Virginia Pfeifer. He was a WWII Veteran of the Navy aboard USS Proteus. BF Married Fannie Elizabeth Darden on December 1, 1946. He was a lifetime educator with degrees from Cameron Junior College, Southwestern Oklahoma University, and the University of Oklahoma, achieving his PhD. Pringle was an all-state football center at Lawton High School, Lawton, Oklahoma. He was on the 1941 Lawton High School State Championship Football Team. He coached at Seiling, Okla., Putnam, Okla, Friends University, Clearwater, Kans., Curtis Jr. High, Wichita Southeast, and Wichita Collegiate. He was inducted into several sports halls of fame. Visitation 1-8 pm Tuesday, family present 4-7; funeral service 2 pm, Wednesday both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.
