Buford Lavon George

Buford "Russ" George, 93, of Wichita KS, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1933.

Buford will be remembered by his big warm smile, his devotion to Christ, and the love he had for his family and many friends. He spent over 50 years volunteering his time in the prison systems and nursing homes by spreading his love of Jesus through song and scripture. He also loved woodworking and you could always find him in his "little building" doing projects for others.

He is survived by his son, Danny Jo George (Kathleen), 4 grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Betty Jo, his daughters Vickie Ann Wilderson and Karen Lavon George, his 4 brothers and 4 sisters, and his parents, Fred and Mary.

Visitation with family is 10:00 to 11:00am Wednesday, September 23, 2026 followed by an 11:00am and funeral service is both at Legacy Worship Center, 3310 W MacArthur Rd, Wichita, KS 67217.
