Brooke Lynn Edgar was born in Wichita, Kansas on January 5, 1993 to Crystal Alexander and Chad Edgar. She passed away in Clearwater, Kansas on November 30th, 2021. She was the beloved mother of Kandyce Edgar and Kayden McCray.
Brooke was a bright and inquisitive child from the beginning. No baby gate or car seat could hold her. She always found a way to escape. She was also a Little Mama to Gage and Nathaniel from the time they were born.
As she grew older and her family got bigger. Brookie took care of all of her eleven siblings whom she loved equally. She never distinguished between them and always gave of herself. She was both Sissy and Little Mama to all the kids.
Brooke Edgar graduated from Campus High School in 2011.
She was a hostess at Carlos O'Kelly's.
She was also an award winning agent at Marriott International in Wichita, Kansas.
Brooke’s most important job was to be a mother to Kandyce and Kayden. She loved her kids with all of her heart. She was the best Mama. Her kids came first. Always.
Brooke was there to lend a helping hand to family and friends. We all have at least one Brooke story where she came to our rescue, cooked us food, made us laugh when we were sad, or gave us a shoulder to cry on. Brooke wanted those around her to feel better. Her heart was pure and generous. She would also tell you exactly how it was, even if we didn’t want to hear it, because she loved us.
In the end, Brooke was seeking God with all her heart. She bought a beautiful new bible and underlined meaningful passages, on the day she passed.
Brooke was preceded in death by her Papa Dick Cottle, Grandpa Frank Edgar, and Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Alexander.
Brooke Lynn Edgar is survived by her beloved children Kandyce and Kayden; Mother, Crystal (Nathan) Alexander; Father, Chad (Melissa) Edgar; Grandmother, Karen Cottle; Grandmother, Darlene Edgar; Grandparents, Mike and Tammy Alexander; Kayden’s father, Joe McCray; Siblings: Gage (Ambrosia) Edgar; Nathaniel Edgar; Keaton Alexander; Kamryn Alexander; Isaac Alexander; Kimberly Meadows; Hope Meadows; David L. Meadows; Xavier Edgar; and Lexie Edgar. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
We are all still in shock. None of us know what to do without her.
Be. like. Brookie.
Give, even when you have little. Clean someone’s house when they are down, listen to their problems, fix a meal for a grieving loved one, and love and laugh big.
We will all miss Brooke’s warm hugs and sweet laughter most of all. Be like Brooke. Seek God and be like Jesus. As Brooke posted on the day of her Papa’s funeral, “It’s never goodbye…it’s always see ya later!!”
