Brent Ray Hardsaw

August 11, 1976 — May 29, 2026

Derby

Brent Hardsaw, 49 of Derby, Kansas, went to heaven on Friday, May 29, 2026

Born August 11, 1976, to Darrell and Carol (Branson) Hardsaw. Brent grew up all over due to him being born into a military family. He claimed Elizabeth, IN as his hometown where he graduated high school from and then joined the United States Air Force in August 1994. He served as a Firefighter and as a First Sergeant. He retired in January 2017 as a Senior Master Sergeant after 22 years of honorable service. After retiring from the military, he continued to serve his country as a civilian firefighter at McConnell AFB, KS, most recently as Assistant Chief of Operations. In Sept 2000, at his second duty assignment, Shaw AFB, SC, is where he first met Gina (Burnette), there they were married on 19 July 2003.

Brent has had too many achievements and accolades to mention here but if you asked him what his greatest ones were, it is to be known as “Dad” to his two children, Alyssa and Ethan Hardsaw. They brought so much joy to him, made him a better man and he loves them both with every part of his being. He was a loving husband and devoted father that was determined to provide the best life he could for his family. He is known by those who have met him for his quick wit, one liners, playful jokes, strong work ethic, tenacity, helping others, love of playing or watching sports, golfing and being out on the water fishing. Brent Ray Hardsaw will be forever deeply loved and missed.

He is survived by his wife, Gina Hardsaw, two children Alyssa and Ethan Hardsaw, mother Carol (Branson) Hardsaw, brother Brian Hardsaw, sister Brande Keen (Wes), and nephews Dylan & Mason Keen.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 10:00 a.m. at Countryside Christian Church, 1919 S Rock Road, Wichita, KS 67207. There will not be a graveside service at this time.
