63, passed away Friday, February 23, 2024. She was born January 8, 1961, to Donald and Patricia Urmey in Salina, Kansas.

Brenda worked for USD 260 for 25 years, prior to that, she worked for NCR Corporation with her father. She spent a lifetime making memories at her family’s cabin in Creede, Colorado. Brenda loved baking (which her daughter could never master) and cooking meals for her family. She also enjoyed making her famous Christmas sugar cookies, planting and watering flowers, Friday date nights at the casino, watching the Kansas City Chiefs and spending as much time as possible with her grandkids. During retirement she loved going to lunch with her two high school girlfriends and starting to travel. She enjoyed watching her husband work on projects while supporting her kids with theirs.

Nothing will ever compare to the love Brenda had for her family and her selfless acts towards others. Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. A day will not go by that she is not dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ronald; children, Nathan (Jessica) Thole, Brooke (Brent) Adkisson, Ryan (Tarra) Thole; grandchildren, Paisley, Beckett, Hadley, Bristol, Creede; siblings, Greg (Bev) Urmey, Donna (Chris) Sand, Alice (Sam) Wike.

Visitation: Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Smith Family Mortuary 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037. Graveside Service: 10:00 am, Friday, March 1, 2024, at Hillcrest Cemetery 10102 E. 95th St. S. Derby, Kansas 67037.
