Billy Gene Phipps

Billy Gene “Bill” Phipps, of Haysville, 83, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016. He was born June 27, 1932 to Alva and Eva (Webb) Phipps in Galena, KS. Bill was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from Cessna Aircraft in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, June Murray. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma J. Phipps; children, Richard G. Phipps, Robert D. Phipps, and Linda (Jeff) Long; grandchildren, Emily Long and Whitney Long; brother, Richard N. Phipps; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Monday, 3 to 8 pm with family present between 5 and 7 pm at Smith Family Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville, KS 67060. Funeral: 1 pm, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at West Haysville Baptist Church, 141 N. Lamar, Haysville, KS 67060. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Haysville Baptist Church.
