Billy Edward Pickens, age 78, of Douglass, retired Boeing Company employee, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011. Visitation 1-8 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N Rock Rd, Derby. Funeral service 11 AM Monday, November 28, 2011, Rose Hill Christian Church, 314 N Rose Hill Rd. Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Beulah & Herman Pickens, Sr.; and a brother, Wilford. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Kathryn; daughters, Ginger (Steven) Easter, of Cheney, and Lori (Thomas) Monteith, of Douglass; brothers, James, of Wichita, Larry, of Canon City, CO, Bill and LeRoy, both of Doniphan, MO, Herman Jr., of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Charlie, of Kingman, AZ; sisters, Mary Lou Morris, of Derby, Martha Tiemeyer, of Wichita, Janice Thacher, of Towanda, and Shirley Zwierzynski, of Byron, MI; grandchildren, Nicole and Matthew Easter, Valerie, Joshua and Mackenzie Monteith.
