Billy Carr

April 26, 1951 — March 16, 2018

Warsaw, MO - Carr, Billy Ray

Age 66, passed away Friday, March 16th, 2018. Billy was born the 3rd of 10 kids. He was eager to work and support himself at a young age. Being in a large family, there wasn’t much money to go around. He lied about his age in order to start working on a loading dock for a truck line in Wichita, KS. This started his love for trucking.

He acquired his CDL and spent many years of his life driving semis while supporting a wife and 3 children. He loved working for Yellow Freight and was a member of Teamsters Local union 795. He retired from Yellow Freight before moving to Missouri. You would rarely see him without a baseball cap or in anything but T-shirt and jeans. He enjoyed the simple things in life. His hobbies included playing guitar, singing in a soothing tenor, fishing and sitting near water, riding on pontoons, grilling, watching Dallas Cowboys football and listening to music, especially his favorite band, The Beatles. He was a beloved father and favorite grandfather, nephew, cousin, uncle and brother. His sense of humor was one of his best traits. He touched many lives and his absence is felt in many hearts. He is preceded in death by parents, Lloyd and Elizabeth Carr; daughter Mandy Carr; grandson, Ryan O'neil. Billy is survived by his son, Billy Carr II (Molly); daughters, Teresa Nichols (Robbie), Charlotte Carr (Terry Lauderbaugh); granddaughters, Danielle, Lauren, Emma and Ellie; grandsons, Blake, Dane, Jayden and Lane; brothers, Lloyd Carr Jr., Leonard Carr, Rodger Carr, Jim Carr, and David Carr; sisters, Georgia Pelkey, Carla Summers, Cathy Carr and Linda Moran; 4 great grand children. Funeral Service 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 24th, 2018 at Douglass Township Community Building 202 S. Forrest St. Douglass, KS 67039 with interment to follow at Douglass Cemetery, Douglass, Kansas.
