Billie D. Lankard

Lankard, Billie “Bill” “Popo” D., 84, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014. He was born September 20, 1929 in Harris, KS, the son of Jasper and Minnie (Milliman) Lankard. Bill married Mary Susan Bartley in 1954 and she preceded him in death in 1991. In 2003, he married Linda Glaser. Bill co-owned Quality Body Shop of Mulvane with Robert Schippers for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard, Gene, Dick, Bob, Don, and Sam Lankard; and sister, Mary Alice Hunsaker. Bill’s passing is mourned by his wife, Linda of Mulvane; children, Ray (Carol) Lankard of Belle Plaine, Deborah Lankard (Mark Coffey) of Mulvane, Tamera Ramsey (Dave Farnham) of Stafford, and Greg (Tish) Lankard of Mulvane; stepsons, Robert (Mary Jean) Glaser of Derby, and Tim (Deidre) Glaser of Highlands Ranch, CO; his grandchildren who called him “Popo”, Kelsey (Kaci) Lankard of Pratt, Jesse Lankard of Wichita, Shane Bercaw of Mulvane, Brad (Amanda) Lankard of Mulvane, Brett (Kassie) Witt of Mulvane, Jayme Ramsey of Stafford, Kyle (Brooke) Ramsey of Lawrence, Amanda Lankard of Peck, Cody Lankard of Mulvane, Quinn Glaser of Derby, Kaliya and Rylan Glaser of Highlands Ranch, CO; great-grandchildren, Cheyenna Bercaw of Mulvane, Regan and Maylee Witt of Mulvane, Elliott and Lillian Ramsey of Lawrence, Bryce Nicholson of Peck, Damien (Sierra) Liesmann of Wichita, and Patricia Bibb of Mulvane; great-great granddaughter, Myiah Liesmann of Wichita; brother, Jim Lankard of Garnett; sisters, Ruth Hatch of Eldon, MO and Jeanette Hiatt of Garnett. Bill was also “Popo” to kids that may not have had his blood, but certainly received his love, including, Kara, Meghan, and Haley Schippers. His passing is also mourned by a host of other family and friends. Visitation: Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family present between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037. Celebration of Life: 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Mulvane United Methodist Church, 107 S. Central Ave., Mulvane, KS 67110. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the F.R.O.G. Diner, c/o Mulvane United Methodist Church.
