Bill R. Zimmerling

Bill Zimmerling, 74, retired Kice Industries sheet metal mechanic/painter, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016. Visitation Wednesday 1-8 p.m., family present 5-7; funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday, both at Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville. Burial will follow at 12:30 at Forest Park Cemetery in Anthony, KS. Bill was a friend to all, and could usually be found spending his free time on the tailgate of his Ford pickup or in his garage or garden, with his pets close by. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Marie Zimmerling, and brother Ronnie. Survived by his loving and tolerant wife of 47 years, Joyce; daughters Marilyn "Lynnie" (Pat) Lemmons and Sherry (Shawn) Holst; grandchildren Nate (Kali) Lemmons, Jacob Heindel, Sarah Lemmons, Nic Lemmons, Katie Heindel, Dani Holst, Hunter Heindel, and Neil Lemmons; great-grandchildren Avery and Paisley; sister Peggy Schneider, and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
