Surrounded by family, Bill Potter, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2018. Bill was born on September 21, 1921 in Louisville Kentucky, the son of Zola Smith. He served in the United States Air Force for 21 years, retiring as a MSGT. Bill was married to his devoted wife Lou, June 10, 1950, in Louisville, KY. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and a dear friend to everyone he met and will be greatly missed by all who have been blessed to have him in their lives. He is preceded in death by his mother, Zola Smith; wife, Mary Louise Potter; brother, Jack Queen; granddaughter, Brianna Potter; daughter-in law, Laure Potter; and son-in-law, James Fahrbach. Survivors include his sons, Doug, Wayne (Brenda); daughter, Debbie Fahrbach; 7 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Visitation 1-8 pm Wednesday, August 22, with family receiving friends 5-7 pm, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10 am Thursday, August 23, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, both at St. Mary Catholic Church.
